New Obsession

Vintage Pyrex. Yup, that is my new obsession after today's "darling, I've got to get out of the house for a bit. Will you please watch the baby?" Then off I went to Antique Row. Wasn't really looking for anything in particular, just needed a mental break from everything for a bit. And then, I found this gem ....

a Pyrex loaf pan from the 1972  line of "Spring Blossoms ", it's white-milk glass with avocado green flowers and b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! So now the search begins to complete my collection and with so many different patterns out there, I may just end up with more Pyrex than I know what to do with - if that's even possible???

Picture Perfect "Monday"

Okay so I know today is not Monday but once again, school overtook my life at the beginning of the week so I am a few days behind on posting pictures of Blaykleigh. Any who, here is her most recent "photo shoot", all decked out in K-state apparel! Granny (Bonnie)  is going to send in a picture of her to the school so that she can be in the "Future Wildcats" slide show on the jumbotron at home football games. Just a tad over 3 months old and she will already have her "15 minutes of fame"!

*Please excuse the drool spots, there is an excessive amount of saliva in her mouth these days.

game face ... looking fierce

classic B face

so smily
(i'm bummed this one is kind of blurry)

hitting the books

perfection at it's finest

she gave the stink lip when I asked her "now how do you really feel about going to K-state?"
juuuust kidding

Saturday morning squeals

Our happy little bird.

Her squeals get louder and louder with each passing day,
she is catching on rather quickly how to use those vocal cords of hers.

Pinterest Project

I have always wanted a cute spaghetti noodle jar or tin to store my spaghetti noodles. I have looked here and there but have yet to find one. On a side note, I did happen to stumble across a cute macaroni noodle tin at Goodwill awhile back and I love it but it's for "macaroni" and is too short for spaghetti noodles. So when I came across this pinterest post ... I figured, I, myself would make my own spaghetti noodle "jar" and I have to say, I am quite pleased! It was super easy, required minimal time and was pretty much free considering I had everything I needed minus the $.75 Elmers glue required for the homemade Mod Podge*.

See:

easy peasy lemon squeezy!

* Homemade Mod Podge:
1 bottle of Elmers glue
1 jar with a tight sealing lid (I used a salsa jar)
water

Empty bottle of glue into jar.
Fill glue bottle with water and shake.
Pour water into the jar with the glue.
Shake, shake, shake.
And voila you have homemade Mod Podge!

mirrors

Fell in love with this picture. Found here

And this quote seemed fitting.

Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the question now. Perhaps then, some day far in the future, you will gradually without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.

iPhone photos

So I wasn't able to take or post pictures yesterday. Blaykleigh hasn't been feeling too well and I have my first exam of the semester tonight and a ton of studying still ahead of me. I thought I would go through my iPhone and post a few recent pictures of her that I have taken. She sure is growing up fast.

family photos

While my mom was here visiting she offered to take some pictures of Jason, Blaykleigh and I since we didn't have too many of the three of us together. Here they are ... enjoy.

3 generations

This past Labor Day weekend my mom was able to come down to visit for the second time since Blaykleigh was born. It was so great to have her here with us! As always time passed faster than you want and before I knew it she was on a flight back to Denver.

Even though her stay wasn't as long as I would have liked, it was wonderful to have her here next to me and B got to soak up lots of Nani kisses!

We had several lunches out. Shopped until we dropped, even shared a Diet Coke and a Popcorn as we strolled through Target; the best part of shopping there as far as we are concerned and a tradition I plan to share with B once she graduates from her liquid only diet. She made us several tasty dinners and treated us to a nice seafood dinner at Virginia's on the Bay in Port A. on her last night here ... we even took the ferry boat over there!

But now that she is gone I miss her immensely and am counting down the days until B and I head up to Colorado for a visit.

Our moments

Here it is. One of the best moments ever! Lazy mornings in bed with Blaykleigh. I have plenty of things I need to be doing but lying next to this little girl makes all else seem so trivial. So here I lay soaking up some of our moments, some of the very best moments life has to offer. I truly am blessed beyond belief. And I am so very thankful to have been given the opportunity to work from home which allows me to have mornings such as this everyday if I wish!
